favor{\'a}veis {\`a} produ{\c{c}}{\~a}o de flores tropicais,
entre elas as helic{\^o}nias, {\'u}nicas representantes na
regi{\~a}o tropical da fam{\'{\i}}lia Heliconiaceae. O objetivo
deste trabalho foi avaliar o potencial agroclim{\'a}tico da
cidade de Marab{\'a} (PA), a fim de analisar a viabilidade do
cultivo de helic{\^o}nia nessa cidade. Para isto, foram
utilizados dados meteorol{\'o}gicos de esta{\c{c}}{\~a}o
convencional observados no Instituto Nacional de Meteorologia
(INMET), coletados no per{\'{\i}}odo de 1985 a 2013, que
tamb{\'e}m possibilitou o c{\'a}lculo do balan{\c{c}}o
h{\'{\i}}drico climatol{\'o}gico, pelo m{\'e}todo de
Thornthwaite e Mather (1955). Informa{\c{c}}{\~o}es
edafoclim{\'a}ticas da planta foram colhidas de boletins e
comunicados t{\'e}cnicos, dispon{\'{\i}}veis no site da Embrapa
Amaz{\^o}nia Oriental, localizada na cidade de Bel{\'e}m (PA). A
an{\'a}lise climatol{\'o}gica dos resultados mostrou que na
cidade de Marab{\'a} (PA) a m{\'e}dia anual da
precipita{\c{c}}{\~a}o {\'e} de 1872 mm, sendo o
per{\'{\i}}odo chuvoso (PRP > 100 mm) de novembro a maio e o
per{\'{\i}}odo menos chuvoso (PRP < 100 mm) de junho a outubro.
A temperatura varia entre 26,4 °C e 28,4 °C, com m{\'e}dias de
26,9 °C e de 28,0 °C nos per{\'{\i}}odos chuvoso e menos
chuvoso, respectivamente. O per{\'{\i}}odo de excedente
h{\'{\i}}drico come{\c{c}}a em janeiro e vai at{\'e} abril. Em
maio come{\c{c}}a a ocorrer retirada de {\'a}gua do solo, e de
junho a outubro ocorre d{\'e}ficit h{\'{\i}}drico, com
reposi{\c{c}}{\~a}o h{\'{\i}}drica em dezembro. A cidade de
Marab{\'a} apresenta condi{\c{c}}{\~o}es favor{\'a}veis para o
cultivo e a produ{\c{c}}{\~a}o de plantas helic{\^o}nias, uma
vez que suas caracter{\'{\i}}sticas t{\'e}rmicas e pluviais
s{\~a}o ideais para o cultivo dessas esp{\'e}cies, entretanto,
n{\~a}o apenas para helic{\^o}nias como para qualquer outra
esp{\'e}cie, para boas produ{\c{c}}{\~o}es h{\'a} necessidade
de irriga{\c{c}}{\~a}o do solo nos meses de maio a outubro.
ABSTRACT: The climate features in state of Para suggest that the
region presents favorable conditions for the production of
tropical flowers, including the heliconias, the only
representatives in the tropical region of Heliconiaceae family.The
objective of this study was to evaluate the agroclimatic potential
of the city of Maraba (PA) in order to analyze the feasibility of
heliconia cultivation in this city.For this, were used
meteorological data of conventional station, observed at the
National Institute of Meteorology, collected in the period of 1985
at 2013, which also allowed the calculation of climatic water
balance, by the method of Thornthwaite and Mather (1955).Soil and
weather information of the plant were collected of papers and
technical communications, available at the Embrapa Eastern Amazon
site, located in Belem (PA).The climatological analysis of the
results showed that in the city of Maraba (PA) the annual average
rainfall is 1872 mm, with the rainy period (PRP > 100 mm) from
November to May and a less rainy period (PRP < 100 mm) June to
October. The temperature varies between 26,4 °C and 28,4 °C, with
averages of 26,9 °C and 28,0 °C in the rainy season and less
rainy, respectively.The water surplus period goes of January to
April. In May begins to occur the removal of water, and from June
to October occur water deficit, with water replacement in
December.The city of Maraba has favorable conditions for the
cultivation and production of heliconia plants, since their
temperature and precipitation characteristics are ideal for the
cultivation of these species, however, not only for heliconias as
for any other kind, for good crop productions, exists the need of
soil irrigation from May to October.",
